Disturbing Video Shows Instant Police Get Knifed in Surprise Attack
A police sergeant who rushed to the aid of a fellow officer that was assaulted by a knife attacker was granted the King's Commendation for Bravery.
Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he held a blade to the neck of his fellow officer Sgt Marc Foster.
Brown initiated the assault as the law enforcement personnel and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a driver subsequent to a traffic accident in the area in July 2023.
Brown stabbed and slashed both Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft stopped him with a electric weapon.
"Officer stabbed," the officer stated over his communication device.
Bodyworn and dashboard camera recording released by the police department revealed Brown, that was clothed in dark clothing with a hood covering head, run up to Sgt Foster from the rear with a weapon outstretched.
He ran into the policeman who tripped and fell to the pavement, before Sgt Ansell stepped in and tried to wrestle him to the floor although being repeatedly struck with the blade.
Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and waited for a clear shot, bringing the fight to an finish.
Sergeant Ansell stated audibly: "I need assistance on my neck now, I'm bleeding in the neck."
Sgt Ansell received two lacerations to his throat and more cuts to his limbs and body, while Sgt Foster suffered slash wounds.
Officials said Sgt Foster used his bare hands to control his colleague's bleeding before paramedics reached the scene.
The new award follows subsequent to the three officers were granted departmental Bravery Awards in October 2023 and the police federation award from the area officer association in early 2024.
They further earned a Regional Valor Recognition in summer 2024.
"The actions of each policeman ultimately rescued themselves and meant no civilians suffered any wounds."
Brown received a sentence to an secure medical confinement in April 2024, according to officials.
